It was fantastic to see the reopening of the Dartmoor Line splashed across national, regional and local media following Friday’s big announcement. BBC Breakfast filmed live from Okehampton station (watch a clip with Dartmoor National Park’s Rebecca Martin) and interviewed rail partners and local volunteers alike. This was followed by an excellent report on ITV – still available to watch at the link.

The Times, The Independent and the Evening Standard all covered the story, and the reopening was also extensively reported by regional and local news. This was mirrored by a great reaction on social media all weekend.

It’s heartening to see such an appetite for the return of the railway – now it’s time to get to work!
